| Herta Wescher was a
German art critic who died in the early 70s. She contributed
to Art d'Aujourd'hui
and at the same time to Cimaise, becoming
the chief editor in October 1955. During her whole life, she strove

| " Deyrolle is in his life like in his painting:
independent, genuine and communicative though he hardly speaks
about himsell Even his friends do not know much about him, except
that he sticks to some rules, well-organized days and that he
is an unremitting worker, guided by the sense of responsibility
towards his mission as an artist. In his humble studio,
he is surrounded by primitive art objects the secret kinship
of which he may appreciate. He knows very well what he
enjoys, the people he likes and those he dislikes. Should
you meet him, you are captivated by him, by his great sense
of humour, always on the verge of bursting out... " ["
Deyrolle ", Cimaise, June-July-August 1956, pp. 15-20]. |
