| The " catalogue raisonné
"of painted works is being prepared. Until now, only the abstract
works (from 1944 to 1967) were listed, i. e 916 paintings. J.D.'s
log-book contained many additional
A and B numbers, particularly at the beginning, which explains the
difference between the total referred to and the opus 881 corresponding
to the last painting recorded by the painter. In terms of " vearly average ", J.D.'s number of paintings ranged between thirty or forty from 1946 onwards, with a very noticeable drop between 1961 and 1962, and peaks of more than 50 paintings in 1947, 1948, 1950, 1955 and 1958.
