| Apart from painting, J.D.
loved listening to classical and contemporary music, reading science
fiction or in the late afternoon just going for a walk in the country
surrounding Gordes. When he stayed
in Paris, he sometimes went to the theatre, especially in the 60's,
but he preferred the pictures. Let us recall the time when he
used to make sketches of movement at the " Art
et Publicité " School, drawing after the pictures lent
by the film library, or when he used to go to the first avant-garde
cinemas... |
In a conversation with Jean Grenier (see
Biblio), incidentally,
he alluded to it: " I have seen last year at Marienbad and
I have been very surprised to discover a first film corresponding
to my preoccupations in painting. " |
